What do you want to achieve today? This week? This season? This year? In the next five years?
Reaching your goals begins with you—at home, at school, in the community, and at practice.
Below, are general goals that you should always keep in mind. Think of where you want to go beyond these goals.
Older Swimmers:
- Have a positive attitude during all practices and meets.
- Attend as close to 100% of the practices as possible.
- Complete goal sheets prior to each session start.
- Aim for a three percent growth in all swims each year.
- Lead by example each day to help teach the younger swimmers the values and attributes that have helped you with your success.
Younger Swimmers:
- Try new events whenever possible.
- Attempt to gain three percent per year in all events.
- Avoid specialization in your swimming strokes—aim to improve in all of them.
All Swimmers:
- Realize that the human body does not peak until it is 25-28 for women and men and that you are preparing yourself for future success.
- Encourage your teammates during all practices and competitions. We are a team with team goals.
